The claim from a Council source that “I have blocked attempts to secure a third permanent coronavirus testing centre in the west of the borough is untrue and potentially libellous.
Redbridge has the highest rate of covid cases in London and as this continues to rise we must all do everything we can to prevent this.
As a result of the Conservative Government’s funding wholeheatedly supported by Redbridge Conservatives, Redbridge is now getting a much-needed additional site in Woodford for Covid-testing. I asked reasonable questions about how the council plans to manage residents’ concerns about traffic and parking given the location they have chosen is already congested. As a result of my questions, highway officers will be monitoring traffic flows and taking action where needed. Now that this will be dealt with it is vital for the safety and wellbeing of our residents that this third test facility starts as soon as possible which is something that both myself and the Redbridge Conservative Group fully support.
Instead of spreading malicious rumours and smears we need a council leadership focussed on improving Redbridge's increasingly serious pandemic response who will take action now without any further prevarication or delay.
