150 Words on the Ward - notable landmark, geographical area?
Wesley Manta
I am a project manager, working in the information technology field. I work as a trustee for a homeless charity, which is focused on helping those in need to receive food, transportation, and education.
I also serve in the Army Reserve, working as a trooper in the RAC. I have lived in Redbridge for my entire live, having gone to school in the area.
I am standing because I am passionate about making our community a wonderful place for all. The council needs to listen to the community to make sure that our needs are met. We can only achieve this when residents have a strong, persuasive voice championing their needs. I want to be that voice for residents in Barkingside if elected
Daniel Moraru
My name is Daniel Moraru, I am an Executive Director on the Boards of both a refurbishments contractor and an employment agency in construction. Throughout the pandemic I have employed many who are homeless as well as people who have been out of work for a long period of time. I grew up and studied in Redbridge and it has been a desire, since I was young, to contribute and give back to our community as much as I can.
My ethos is less talking and more work and this is exactly what I want to bring to Barkingside Ward.Less talking and more action done in the best interest of our residents is what is important and I promise to do that if elected for Barkingside Ward.
Kartik Parekh
Like you, I am a resident of Barkingside Ward, having lived here for nearly a decade. My passion for the local community prompted me to stand for election as a councillor for Barkingside Ward.
Over the past few years I have organised and chaired public meetings on: Crime in the Woods Estate, Gants Hill Hub, Goodmayes Tesco development and “Quiet Streets” where I also successfully spearheaded the resident led opposition to Labour’s scheme. I was also on the working group which stopped three wholesale markets being relocated on Redbridge Green Belt.
I have edited newsletters, authored reports, campaigned on several other issues and will continue to support my fellow residents. I am the strong voice that Barkingside Ward residents deserve!
