Stephen Adams
Stephen was born in Woodford and has lived here is whole life. He works for one of the Big Four in data and financial regulation within financial services.
His regulatory experience has enabled him to specialise in Children and Young People where he has helped 36 families navigate school appeals processes with success, and contribute to improving policy to make sure local schools are for local children.
His professional knowledge of financial matters has enabled him to scrutinise Council finances, including the Ilford Labour administration’s mis-valuation of their fund investments to overstate their financial position.
Stephen has worked on numerous other matters with regards to planning, street cleaning, crime, tree planting, and green spaces. Some examples include: CCTV in Derby Road Car Park; defeat of the Waltham Fences high-rise; extra bins on St Barnabas Road; and the replanting of numerous street trees.
Robert Cole
Robert was born in Redbridge and has lived here all his life. His children went to school in Clayhall.
He has worked in various companies and organizations as a Chartered Building Surveyor and Project Manager but is now semi-retired.
For the last 4 years Robert has been a co-opted member of the Health Scrutiny Committee and has pressed for more beds at Whipps Cross, and an increase of locations for blood testing.
This has now happened. He is also a member of the South Woodford Society and tries to help with the development of the neighbourhood plan.
Robert wants to give residents a voice in raising their issues and concerns, trying to find solutions and working for a safer, cleaner, greener Churchfields and bringing openness and democracy to the Council decision making, particularly with Planning and the environment.
In his spare time, Robert is a keen football fan and spends time on his allotment.
Garry Sukhija
Garry has lived in Redbridge for 18 years, the last 5 in Churchfields.
He grew up in East Ham, still has family there, and has experienced first-hand what decades of a Labour council does to an area.
He doesn’t want the same thing to happen to Churchfields, although sadly some parts of Redbridge are in decline.
Garry works as a Project Manager in banking. He wants to use his experience to ensure that our Council is well-run and delivers value for money to taxpayers.
Fundamentally, he believes that they must get the simple basics right like ensuring our streets are clean and safe.
When not working, Garry helps to keep his street and surrounding roads clean of litter, and also organises litter-picks on behalf of the Woodford Green Amenity Group
